This software tool takes care of engineering calculations related to design of roller bearings.
MITCalc is a software for a set of engineering, industrial, and technical calculations for your day-to-day routines. It helps you carry out design of components precisely and quickly. If you need calculations for solving a technical problem or an engineering calculation this could be a tool for you. You are not going to need external expert’s knowledge. The tool has separate modules to take care of specific engineering problem areas. This particular module can be used for the selection, calculation and check of rolling bearings of the company SKF. The features offered include selection and check of a suitable bearing from a database containing some 10,000 items, basic bearing parameter calculations such as life, static safety, etc., calculation of load with a pair of tapered roller bearings or a pair of angular contact ball bearings, etc. Support of 2D CAD (AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, IntelliCAD, Ashlar Graphite, TurboCAD) and 3D CAD in full calculation package (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Pro/E) is available.
The interface is generally intuitive. However, it is not for beginners. This software tool is clearly for people with the right domain knowledge in the specific engineering area applicable. Even then, it takes a little familiarization for the right people. There is a lot of information on the interface. This tool will be able to do other auxiliary calculations on top of the basic ones mentioned already. Some such calculations would be lubricant operational viscosity, mean loads for bearings loaded by variable loads, permitted bearing speed etc.
